President Julie Vianale led the club meeting. We were delighted to have local celebrity Arlene Herson as our guest speaker. She told about her career living mostly in New York and creating “The Arlene Herson Show” where she interviewed celebrities. Her show ran on cable TV for many years and is available on YouTube.  Arlene was recognized earlier this year with a 2022 OPAL Award as one of the esteemed Honorees. Club Assembly: Yaacov Heller’s Birthday and Various Club Announcements

President Elect Jeff Tromberg led a Club Assembly meeting where we got discussed a number of programs and committee reports.  First Jeff acknowledged Yaacov Heller’s birthday. Lisa Talley brought some nice balloons, and the club all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to him. Next, Bill Riddick gave a report from the Fund Board: We had a record-breaking OPAL with $240,000+ in net proceeds. We should also be receiving money from our Boca West Foundation Grant in April. Police Chief Michele Miuccio has served in law enforcement for over 34 years. She joined the Boca Raton Police Services Department in 1989 and has been a member of the command staff for over 17 years, working in various facets of police operations and administration. Our Club was delighted to have Mykhailo Bernatskyi and his mother Inna Teslenko visiting from Ukraine. Mykhailo just recently graduated from Lynn University and was gathering military supplies to take back to Ukraine where he was going to enlist in the military to help fight against the invasion from Russia.  Inna (who said she didn’t speak much English) read a nice message to the members of the Club. Club member Marina Kapulovska, who was born in Ukraine, welcomed the two visitors and assisted Inna read her heartfelt message. My name is Tatiana Nuñez and I am a 2019 Future Stars winner and College Scholarship Recipient. Within the past year I have been so fortunate (with the limited time outside of school) to be involved in so many different projects and performances.  I had the opportunity to perform at Battery Dance Festival, and participate in not one, but two productions held at the prestigious Joyce Theater. Our speaker this past week was Club member Paul Moss, Location Manager for Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Boca Raton. Since the late 1990s, Paul has provided comfort to families in Palm Beach County through the funeral home business.  Paul was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada. He came to Boca Raton to attend Lynn University where he earned a degree in mortuary science. Craft Talk by Spencer Siegel – Estate Planning

The Club was delighted to have Past President Spence Siegel give a craft talk.   He went to the University of Miami and the University of South Florida for undergrad and then attended law school at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami. He talked about Estate Planning, which is primarily helping families plan for incapacity or death. He recommends using a Trust versus a Will and gave some good reasons.
