My name is Tatiana Nuñez and I am a 2019 Future Stars winner and College Scholarship Recipient. Within the past year I have been so fortunate (with the limited time outside of school) to be involved in so many different projects and performances.
I had the opportunity to perform at Battery Dance Festival, and participate in not one, but two productions held at the prestigious Joyce Theater. I was also selected to take part as a tap dancer in the Pre- Production with Ayodele Casel for the upcoming Broadway Revival of Funny Girl. Furthermore, I spent my summer training with Ballet Hispánico as a Merit Scholarship Recipient, and was the featured pointe dancer in Ally Bank’s most recent National TV Commercial entitled “Anthem” which has been aired  nationwide on Monday night football, the World Series, ESPN, Hulu, CNN, and other TV programs and currently has 3.4 million views on Youtube. https://youtu.be/DOeXdiBJUDo
Most recently, I was a part of an art exhibition at Smack Mellon located in Brooklyn, NY debuting a solo performance-art piece on pointe for artist Diana Shpungin. On International Women’s Day 2022, my film “supercodex 05” will premier at the Queens Theatre for their Turning in Place II – Women’s Choreographer and Dance Film Festival.

While training and performing as much as I can, I am currently on the roster as a teacher at Midtown Movement and Dance on the Upper East Side teaching private tap and ballet/contemporary dance classes. I have also participated as a demonstrator for DanceMedEI which is a healthcare and dance collaboration course held by physical therapists for performing arts medicine.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to The Rotary Club of Boca Raton and everyone at Future Stars for their support, mentorship, and for simply believing in me. Your kindness and generosity have allowed me to pursue a career I’m so passionate about and I look forward to the day I can pay it forward to others who are just as passionate about the arts.
As a result of the Future Stars scholarship, I have been able to continue pursuing my B.F.A in Dance at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. NYU Tisch School of the Arts is not only a phenomenal research university, but it is also a training ground for artists and scholars in the arts who desire to fully develop as critical thinkers, as well as fluent and creative performers/choreographers.

This past year, despite the continuous challenges with Covid-19, I have been able to grow as an individual, as a student, and an artist. Additionally, your scholarship has provided the needed reassurance to focus on my academic pursuits and not fear additional financial challenges, for which I’m extremely grateful.

Thank you again Future Stars for being an outlet and for encouraging the next generation of artists to pave the way. I look forward to continuing to share my journey with you.
