We were pleased to have Jerry Price as our guest speaker on July 14, 2021. Jerry is a South Florida native who has an impeccable road racing career.   One highlight was the World Race 2011 which duplicated the course taken by early automobiles in 1911. Sponsors provided alternative fuel vehicles. The race started in New York and went across the US to San Francisco. A boat took all the cars to China where the race continued through China and Russia and finally ended in Paris. Club President Gary Hildebrand was MC of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton’s annual banquet for the Installation of Officers and Board of Directors for the 2021-22 year. The banquet was held at Lakeside Terrace.  Gary announced the following elected officers and directors and thanked each of these individuals for being part of our Club’s leadership for the next year. We were pleased to have Professor Geoffrey Wetherell from the Dept. of Psychology at FAU as our guest speaker on June 30, 2021. Professor Wetherell is the husband of our member Lisa Talley. This week was enjoyed as a Club Assembly at the Pavilion Restaurant. At the start of the meeting, Club President Gary Hildebrand, honored Bob Buruchian with the Rotarian of the Year Award. This was supposed to be given to Bob during the Club Installation of Officers and Directors on June 16; however, he was out of town.  The Club Assembly enabled the members to dialog among themselves.

We were pleased to have Mayor Scott Singer speak to our Club at Sugar Sand Park. It was great to be meeting again in person.  Here are some notes from Scott’s talk: Boca has a population of 100,000 people with a median age of around 45 and an average household income of $80,938.
