Our Club was delighted to have three members of the Downtown Rotary Club as our guest speakers this week to tell us about their trip to Guatemala and help the Ak’Tenamit school.
The Ak’Tenamit community in Eastern Guatemala includes vocational middle and high schools, residential facilities, health clinic, farm, fair trade store, and restaurant.
Michael is co-founder of Aequus Partners Financial Planning, an independent financial planning practice. Michael Walstrom holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA, an MBA from the Huizenga Business School at Nova Southeastern University, a Certificate in Financial Planning from Northwestern University, and is a CFP®️ professional.
Shenika “Nikie” Moraldo is a dual business owner and public speaker. Nikie is the founder/owner of College Hack Consulting LLC, an academic coaching company that helps struggling learners increase their confidence, improve their grades, and become the leaders of tomorrow.
Bruce worked in the Office of the Attorney General in Maryland (1975 – 2013). He’s a member of the Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton and was Rookie Rotarian of the Year Award in 2020.
Our Club has also helped this school with the purchase of engines for the boats that transport children to the school along the river. The school has enabled many kids, especially woman, to gain skills that results in their getting higher paid jobs and out of low-level poverty.
