Club member Pia Gianonne received this fabulous letter from one of our Rotary Scholarship awardees, Matthew Stone. It heartwarming to read feedback from such a fine and accomplished young man.

I wanted to thank you very much for awarding me with the incredibly generous scholarship from the Rotary Club of Boca Raton for the 2020-2021 academic year.

I feel fortunate to have received this scholarship once again. During these economically unstable times, this scholarship will allow me to continue on with my studies at the University of Florida.

I am proud of my accomplishments during my first year at UF. I am double majoring in Business Management and Sport Management. I really enjoyed all of my classes, got all A’s for the Fall and Spring Semesters, was named to the President’s Honor Roll, the Warrington College of Business Dean’s list, had a great roommate, made a lot of new friends, was captain of my intramural soccer and kickball teams, continued on with my community service through the nonprofit group Education Rocks, and joined many new business and community clubs.

Once again, thank you all for everything that you have done for me; your
generosity is always appreciated. I wish you all good health and happiness always.
Please stay safe during these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Matthew Stone

And, if that wasn’t enough, here’s what his mentor Lee “Sonny” Tennenbaum had to say about Matthew:

I first met Matthew at our Scholarship Night. He totally impressed me (and everyone else who interviewed him) as a respectful and focused young man.

Matthew, pure and simple, is someone who does good and doesn’t let grass grow beneath his feet. Not only is he an excellent student, but he has a desire to help others in a meaningful way that make him a natural future Rotarian.
