The Club was delighted to have Camila Mychalczuk (“MUH-CAL-CHECK”) as our speaker. She is proud to represent Florida Atlantic University as the Director of Local Relations. She started her career at Florida Atlantic at the A.D. Henderson School and FAU High School as a School Counselor in March 2021 and transitioned to the Office of Government Relations in January. The Office of Government Relations promotes and reinforces FAU as a valued community partner, advocates for the University at all levels of government, and facilitates partnerships with the community.
Outside of work, Camila enjoys spending time outdoors and in nature. She is an avid sports fan and has been a Miami Dolphins fan since childhood. She is married to her college sweetheart, Paul, who is a middle school teacher. They have two dogs – a 15-year-old Labrador and a 7-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund, and their favorite thing to do together is spend time at the beach.
Camila introduced FAU’s new Innovation and Business Development (I&BD) Pipeline, an expanded footprint of services offered to the South Florida business community. The pipeline encompasses FAU opportunities such as FAU Wave, Adams Center for Entrepreneurship, FAU’s Market Validation Program, National Science Foundation I–Corps Site, the Office of Technology Development, FAU Tech Runway®, Tech Runway Investors Network, Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at FAU and the Office of Global Partnerships and many more. Camila shared stories of students and non-students who accessed FAU’s business resources and were able to turn ideas into businesses with the support of the FAU I&BD Pipeline.
Utilizing existing FAU resources, I&BD’s purpose is to help move individuals and businesses through the pipeline from start to finish – emphasizing programs that help imagine, build, grow, expand and thrive. The 11 I&BD pipeline locations are listed in the attached document. Any questions about the I&BD pipeline or Florida Atlantic University can be directed to Camila Mychalczuk.
