Our club was pleased to induct Chris Maners into the membership of Rotary Club of Boca Raton. Chris is a transfer from the Boca Sunrise Club.
Chris is a proud “Hoosier”, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, raised in the small suburb of Speedway, home of the world-famous Indianapolis 500. He attended Indiana University, Bloomington, graduating 1982, Kelly School of Business, double major Marketing & Management.
As a longtime fan of all things “Disney”, he researched the Walt Disney Co., and moved to Orlando, FL starting in Disney World’s Resort Division which led to a progression of jobs and responsibilities in their Telecommunications division over the subsequent five years.
In 1984, Disney purchased ARVIDA, a Resort & Community developer based in Boca Raton and owner of the Boca Raton Hotel among other residential and commercial real estate sites in Boca. His Disney job duties frequently had him traveling to Boca. In 1988, Chris decided to leave Disney and take a position with Microtel, a Boca Raton based telecom firm. This firm grew substantially over the next five years. He used his hotel/telecom experience in designing and marketing services to the resort industry, again, more real estate related experience!
In 1994, Chris joined KDS, a start-up real estate software company to lead their marketing & sales group. Over the next ten years, he rose to the position of CEO of this company.
In 2004, due to the serious illness of a close family member, Chris decided to retire from the company. Five years later, he was ready to get back to work and decided to pursue a second college degree, from FAU in Commercial Music with a focus in Film Composition and music production. However, following the housing bust of 2008, he returned to real estate as an investor, “flipping”, then as a landlord.
In 2012, Chris got his residential real estate license and began helping others to become owners. During the past seven years Chris has been leading his “South Florida Real Estate Safari” to help others find and obtain the biggest and best deals! His motto is “Providing Solutions and Delivering Dreams.”
Chris uses his music skills to produce tracks for luxury home listing videos and now as an “empty nester” is looking forward to getting back into live music performance himself for fun. Chris has an 18-year-old daughter, Juliette, a graduate of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach. She is a freshman at Rider University in New Jersey where she is studying Musical Theatre with her sights set on Broadway.
