SPEAKER: HARLENE ZWEIG The Jacob S. Zweig Foundation, Inc. was formed in honor of the life of Jacob S. Zweig who was tragically killed at the age of seventeen on November 15, 2008. Jacob touched and inspired many people, volunteering as a Soccer Buddy for children with special needs and making friends across the globe. It was clear early on that Jacob had a natural gift for making everyone, regardless of ability, feel accepted, loved and part of a group. To honor Jacob’s legacy, his family and friends wanted to support local organizations and continue Jacob’s way of treating others with dignity and inclusion. Formed in 2009, the Foundation, known as In Jacob’s Shoes®, honors the love and encouragement Jacob gave to all who knew him and will strive to continue Jacob’s way of making a difference in the lives of others. His smile, his hugs and his huge heart will never be forgotten. For all who love Jacob, we will continue to live by his mantra: “Ask not for lesser burdens, but for broader shoulders.” |

Mar. 05, 2026 5:30 p.m.
Good afternoon,
Next week on Thursday, March 5th, we will be hosting a Rotary social with our club and the Boca Sunrise Rotary Club. The social will be at Maggie McFly’s located at the Town Center Mall starting at 5:30pm.
We are hosting this social as an opportunity to get to know the members from the Sunrise Club. As some of you may know, the Sunrise Club has decided to dissolve their club and would like to be absorbed by another local club (hopefully our club). Our club board has discussed this potential merger and is excited about the numerous positive opportunities it would create. We have met with several members of the Sunrise club to understand their vision for the next chapter of their club. Their goal is to maintain some of their legacy projects, such as the teacher of the year award, along with becoming active in our club’s current projects. Their club has approximately 30 members, that we would happily welcome as members of our club. I believe this is a great opportunity to strengthen our club, bring in new members, and become even more engaged in our community.
While this is all in the preliminary stages, I welcome any feedback and discussion our members may have. In the meantime, I hope to see you all next Thursday as we take the opportunity to get to know more of our fellow Rotarians.
The Sunrise Club has requested that we provide a headcount for the social by Tuesday, 3/3. Please RSVP through ClubRunner!! |
